Crashed Plane

This illustration is from the book ‘The Adventures of Tuk-Tuk, Oo-Too, and Nu-Too: Tuk-Tuk, Oo-Too and Nu-Too Save the Injured Pilot’ by David Innes. I was hired by Mr. Innes’ daughter, Amy and her siblings to illustrate a story of 3 moose brothers. The story was one of many about these moose brothers Mr. Innes told his children at bedtime as they were growing up. The family had a very specific design brief for the characters Including designing the park ranger in the likeness of the father, David Innes. The story takes place in Waterton Lakes National Park, the Canadian side of Glacier National Park. Lucky for me, I grew up not far from GNP and the scenery was very familiar to me. This was my first time illustrating a story for someone else. For this illustration, the manuscript describes the airplane as a single-engine de Havilland DHC-3 Otter so I had fun doing the research on that model of plane and drawing it. The family was very happy with the results of this illustration and the whole book.

Illustrated using Adobe Illustrator.
